4:00–5:45 p.m. Pacific — Presentation

New to Adobe InDesign or looking to build a strong foundation? This beginner-friendly session will walk you through the essentials of Adobe’s industry-standard layout and publishing tool. Whether you're creating flyers, brochures, magazines, or interactive PDFs, understanding the core structure of InDesign is the key to designing with confidence.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How the InDesign workspace is structured and how to navigate panels efficiently
  • The difference between frames, text, and images – and how everything works together
  • How to use styles to create consistent, professional layouts
  • Best practices for setting up documents and exporting for print and digital

By the end of this presentation, you’ll have a clear understanding of how InDesign works and how to begin building polished layouts from scratch.

The session is intended for newcomers, students, and users who want a clearer understanding of how InDesign is structured. It may also be useful for occasional users who have worked in the program but want a refresher or a more systematic overview of its core concepts and terminology.
