LAIDUG
The Last and Only All-InDesign-All-the-Time User Group in the World
At LAIDUG, we’re more than just fans of InDesign—we’re a community. Here, you can:
- Talk about the program we all know and love
- Discover the latest updates and learn new techniques
- Swap stories about clever workarounds
- Inspire someone who’s had a rough day
- Connect with folks across the globe
- Form relationships that may become lifelong friendships
You might even discover a business opportunity, find a job, snag some swag, or win a drawing prize—ranging from Adobe software to (we kid you not) a new car.
We exchange information, foster community, celebrate diversity, and do our part to make the world a better place through our shared love of InDesign.
What We Do
Monthly Presentations
We meet on Zoom every third Thursday of the month. Each meeting includes:
- A 30-minute pre-meeting chat for casual conversation
- A brief update on group news and business
- A featured speaker presentation
- An open Q&A session
- And yes, drawings!
Sometimes we wrap up right on time. Sometimes we hang out afterward and keep the conversation going. Either way, our meetings are free and open to all—always packed with meaningful interaction and practical information.
Unique Educational Events
We also host occasional in-person gatherings and field trips. As an educational nonprofit, we aim to appeal to InDesign users of all skill levels, offering presentations that range from deep-dive technical sessions to unexpected and fun topics (like that time we explored InDesign in prisons).
Why LAIDUG?
In a World Full of Resources…
Sure, there are lots of places to learn InDesign—CreativePro, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, even Adobe’s Community Forums. But what sets us apart?
It’s the Community
At LAIDUG, you get an authentic user-to-user experience. You can ask questions, share stories, inspire others, or just hang out with people who speak your language. Our monthly presentations may be the main attraction—but the real magic is in the camaraderie.
Many of our members are even Adobe Community Experts—so you’re in good company.
Who We Are
A Grassroots Group with Big-Hearted Goals
LAIDUG is independently run by local volunteers, even though we’re officially supported by Adobe Systems, Inc. We’re a registered 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit, funded by:
- Drawing and event ticket sales
- Branded merchandise
- Tax-deductible donations
Our mission includes extending knowledge about page layout and digital publishing into diverse and underserved communities, ensuring everyone has access to the tools and training they need to thrive in this field.
